The binary is in /system/system/bin/ssmtp, and the configuration file is in /tmp/nf. Fix: using a simple SMTP server for mail alerts Moreover the /system partition containing important binaries is write-enabled so the temptation to modify the firmware directly is high, but I need to do a backup first! They modified it because of various UDP ports listening. Seems to be based on the "GoAhead" web server. No idea about the usage of tcp port 8600 and all the other UDP ports. Ok, so the encoder process is the web server. Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address State PID/Program name The telnet daemon and a few other ones are started by the /system/init/ipcam.sh script:Īctive Internet connections (servers and established) We have a telnet access with user root and password=123456 so we can start to play. There's a cheap Ralink MIPS CPU running at 360Mhz, with 32MB of RAM. You can also flash the firmware version 67.2.2.172/9.0.4.67 but you will loose telnet access, although it's easy to re-enable telnetd (see below). My firmware versions are 67.2.2.166/9.0.4.60, so some things may not be usable on your IP cam if your firmware differs. If you're stuck with this webcam, you'll find a few workarounds below! So if you can buy a Foscam instead go for it, but that's not the same price :-) On paper, it seems to have really nice features, but in reality there are lots of bugs and not everything works as expected. Was about to change my router to static but was not too sure what it would mean re security etc.Yes, I've bought this crappy webcam. Hi Vic tried the first 2 steps and it tells me port 99 is closed. Please let me know if you need help or if you need I could see remote your settings as you said!! Keep in mind that in my country (Costa Rica) you must have a Public IP LAN to access this camera models (except for JW and HW models), I don't know about your IP if it is fixed or dinamic, it's better if you have a fixed IP (Public IP LAN)
Vic happy to let u check out my setting using teamviewer if u think that will help.ĭid you open the 99 port on your router? Have tried various things to get it working other than changing my router to a static IP.,so would very much appreciate any help/suggestions people/ Vic may have. Have read thro every post on this thread and suspect it may have something to do with my Huawei Echolife HG 420c router port forwarding (set as port 99) as it fails the test from the PF web site. Unfortunately I cannot access it over the internet from any other locations so it seems to be only working on my home network.
My camera is installed in my house in Greece and working OK when I access it in the house using either the 192.168.1.99:http port 99.address or my d?. web address. This is my first post on this forum which I found after doing a google search for Wanscam network camera.
